Project Overview

Our company performed assessments of the City of Tempe’s four (4) lift stations:  Camelot Lift Station, Alameda Lift Station, Knox Lift Station and Carver Lift Station.  The lift stations range in capacity from 500 to 2,750 gpm.  The assessment work included civil, mechanical, structural and electrical/instrumentation inspections of each of the lift stations followed by a summary memorandum by discipline.  Our engineers and our structural team member entered the wet wells to perform inspections.  Bypass pumping was required for access and Valentine prepared bypass pumping plans and specifications so the City could bid this work out. In addition to condition assessment, Valentine evaluated wet well capacity and pumping requirements for build-out conditions based on build-out requirements per the City of Tempe Sewer Master Plan.  We evaluated several upgrade alternatives for each lift station that considered various lift station layouts/configurations and potential new locations for each lift station.  This analysis considered  construction and operations costs for each alternative.  A final report summarized the results and recommendations for the lift station assessment.  Valentine has designed and assisted/is assisting in the construction for the improvements for all four lift stations (Carver Lift Station is currently in construction).
